Tea production for the month of November 2025 stood at 48.27 Million Kgs, which was slightly higher compared to 47.41 Million Kgs recorded during the same period of 2024 but lower compared to 49.70 Million Kgs recorded in the preceding month of October. Though a higher output is generally expected during the month of November since it is typically the peak of the October-November-December “short rains”, the month was unusually dry across much of the country while the rest experienced rainfall that was ranging from average to severely depressed levels. However, within the tea growing areas, the rainfall was moderate. In the West of Rift, a maximum average daily precipitation of 52.3mm was recorded for Kericho, 30mm for Bomet, 37mm for Kisii/Nyamira and 111.7 mm in Nandi. Similarly, in the East of the Rift, precipitation of up to 43mm was recorded in Kiambu, 50mm in Muranga/Nyeri/Kirinyaga and 52mm in Embu/Meru.
