TBK Chief Willie Kmutai joined Dr. Mutai Erick Kipkoech, Governor for The County Government of Kericho, and the agriculture stakeholders in promoting agripreneurship at the Kabianga Ward Expo. The government is funding a Common User Facility at Ketepa Ltd, to accelerate the value addition of tea produced in the West of the Rift region. Additionally, TBK is conducting a vigorous tea quality improvement campaign and good corporate governance reforms to increase farmers' earnings.

The Tea Board of Kenya (TBK) CEO, Willie Kmutai, hosting a trade delegation from Uzbekistan to discuss enhancing Kenya tea market opportunities and strengthening market linkages, particularly within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, particularly Uzbekistan.
Kenya exports tea to several Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, with Russia being the largest importer, followed by Kazakhstan and others like Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Though the CIS accounts for less than 10% of Kenya’s total tea exports, it remains a strategic growth market due to rising demand for strong black tea. Challenges in this market include geopolitical tensions, logistics, and currency volatility. However, opportunities exist in market expansion and value-added products.
