Tea Tasting and Coffee Cupping

An Introduction

Coffee Cupping is a formalized method of evaluating and assessing the aroma, taste, and overall quality of coffee beans. It is a process commonly used by coffee professionals, including roasters, buyers, and baristas, to analyse and compare different coffees by identifying flavour profiles, potential defects, and the overall characteristics of coffee samples.

Tea Tasting is a formalized tasting and evaluation process that involves careful assessment of the aroma, flavour, and overall quality of different tea samples. It is a valuable tool used by tea professionals, including buyers, blenders, and sommeliers, to analyse and compare teas, understand their characteristics, and make informed decisions regarding sourcing, blending, and purchasing.

The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs through its Missions in Belgium, Netherlands and Germany will host tea and coffee stakeholders from Kenya and the mentioned countries in tea tasting and coffee cupping sessions to promote Kenya tea and coffee in the host countries and Europe market. The whole day event will include presentations, tea tasting, coffee cupping, business-to-business engagements and entertainment.
